Quality assurance
The tubes undergo nondestructive testing on state-of-the-art test lines using ultrasonic and leakage-flux techniques, each in combination with eddy-current testing and identification-verification equipment in the dressing and straightening lines. Testing/inspection is conducted in accordance with the most current DIN EN ISO and ASTM standards. Inspection/testing can be performed based on other national and international standards and guidelines upon request.
All testing/inspections are conducted by trained test personnel (NDT Qualification Level 1) and are monitored by highly qualified staff (NDT Qualification Levels 2 and 3).
A internal pressure test using water can be carried out up to a test pressure of 500 bar. The identification-verification test is conducted using mobile analytical equipment. The mechanical and technical properties of the tubes are determined using state-of-the-art equipment, e.g., computer-controlled universal tensile testing machines.
Additional tests are conducted, such as for surface roughness, waviness, magnetism, determination of layer thickness, magnetic particle testing, ultrasonic purity testing, and similar tests, using the appropriate equipment.
